Day 17: Mom´s classic

(Día 17: Un clásico de mi mamá)

Today I woke up and went to my mom´s house with the intention of looking through her stuff and find something interesting in her bedroom. Alright it sounds like I was sneaking like a burglar but I mean... if you hold the keys, right?.. Right?! I promise I´ll let my mom know I was taking a visit. 

Hoy me levanté y me fui directo a casa de mi mamá con la intención de encontrar algo interesante entre sus cosas. Okay, suena como su me estuviera metiendo cual ladrona pero prometo decirle a mi madre de mi pequeña visita.

It was fun though... And after taking a look I found two things that caught my attention and decided to feature in this little space. 

Fue bastante divertido, y encontré dos cosas que llamaron mi atención así que aquí están.

The first one is a dusting powder from Maja which is quite an old brand, I would even say it is kind of a vintage beauty brand, even their products have a very classic presentation. My mom used to wear it during my childhood and after a hiatus she started using it again some years ago. I quite like the idea of having a body powder is so classic and chic in my opinion. This brand however has gone through quite a change, I mean you can´t find a lot on the web other than amazon lists and some blog posts, also the formula seems to have change for what I´ve read in the perfume so I guess the powder is also the case. However after smelling the powder I found it quite soft so it didn´t bother me but my memory can´t recall the smell exactly, there is no flashback just a reminiscent of something I knew.

El primero es un talco para el cuerpo de Maja, una marca algo antigua, podría decirse que es incluso una de las marcas de belleza vintage, sus productos aun mantienen esa presentación clásica. My mamá solía utilizarla durante mi infancia y hasta hace poco comenzó de nuevo a comprarla. La idea de tener un talco para el cuerpo me gusta se me hace algo tan clásico y chic. Esta marca es algo difícil de encontrar en la web y por lo poco que pude leer, se cambio la formula lo cual explica que aunque el aroma es algo parecido mi cerebro no me trae ningún recuerdo más allá de la idea de conocer algo similar. El perfume aparentemente cambio mucho pero el talco como es más suave no me molesto en lo absoluto.

The second product is a perfume from Ted Lapidus, which I didn´t know much of, but after taking a quick reading I found out he was pretty much the inventor of unisex fashion look and worked with people like John Lennon, Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy. This perfume was relaunched in 2009 and I remember it very clearly it is quite a strong perfume and definitely for a mature woman. Is the kind of perfume I would love to wear when I´m more grown up, like the Chanel No. 5. Besides it holds one of my favorite essences´: Bergamot. 

El segundo producto es un perfume llamado Rumba de Ted Lapidus de quien a decir verdad no sabía mucho, pero después de leer un poco me encontré con la idea de que el fue prácticamente el creador del look unisex y trabajó con personas como John Lennon, Brigitte Bardot y Twiggy. Este perfume fue descontinuado pero lo relanzaron en el 2009 y cada vez que lo huelo recuerdo claramente los 90´s. Es un perfume algo fuerte y me parece que para una mujer mayor. Es el tipo de perfume que me encantaría usar cuando crezca, algo así como el Chanel No. 5. Aparte de que contiene una de mis esencias favoritas: La bergamota.
