May // Tracks & Stars

This is one of my favourite things to write about and I just can´t believe how fast 2 months can go away! I even feel like I need to post at least a double amount of tracks to apologize for these months. So, without no further due here they are:

#1 Levi Niha
Electronic music new dj´s are like any music new musicians, just that instead of singing covers about their favourite songs they do remixes from their favourite tracks. The first track I heard from this DJ from New Zealand was a remix from Netsky, afterwards I checked out his soundcloud profile and found really good stuff so have a check and let me know what you think about him ;)

#2 Tove Lo
Alright, this is not surprise. Everyone including me have been loving this new swedish singer hit. Clearly the remix they did was what caught my eye but after listening to the original song I wasn´t disappointed at all. If I must say something I´m not over the moon about, is probably the video, I mean is alright but doesn´t make any justice to the song, the remix video has a better editing tho.

THE ORIGINAL

THE REMIX

#3 Calle 13
As a native spanish speaker I do like to listen to my spanish music, Calle 13 is one of my fav groups, they managed to get a really cool mix between rap, rock, latin eclectic sounds and social criticism. All their songs are written by Residente (the singer) and in my opinion are very strong and open lyrics. Here is a video called "Adentro" you can turn the cc subtitles in english if you want to, enjoy!

"...inciting disorder means something different because when tyranny is law, revolution is order."

#4 Mumford and Sons
I had listened just one song of them before and even though it is a good song I wasn´t totally into it, but after hearing this song I started to dig them more :) I´d hope to know more them in the future and have the opportunity of watching them live.

# 5 Coldplay
Some people say: "There´s nothing new under the sun". But I think that: "There´s always a new shine under the sun". You can hear a song a million times but after a while you will caught yourself listening to it in a new way or/and better way. I´ve been feeling this with Coldplay recently, kind of like a flashback but better, don´t know if you know what I mean he. But I´ve listened "Yellow" like crazy and loving every second of it (also I can´t believe how young Chris Martin looks!).

#6 RY X
After Bon Iver I felt uneven, it was something I wasn´t sure I quite understood yet I really liked, like love (oh jeez how deep...).
After listening to "Berlin", Bon Iver was clearly an indicator of why I liked this song, you know, it is just... uneven. You feel the highs and the lows like a broken heart, thats why I like it. I, myself am quite a drama lover, in the Jane Austin classic romance way, so this song fitted in the description perfectly.

So this is it, I feel like a weight has been lifted from my back and I can sleep now. Hope you enjoy the tracks and have a lovely week!
See you soon.
xx

  1. I feel the same way. I think you can listen to a song a lot, but everytime is just different!
